Tampa Man Dies in U.S. 19 Crash

He and a man in a wheelchair entered the path of an oncoming SUV, according to FHP troopers.

PASCO COUNTY – A Tampa man died and another man was injured Sunday (May 19) when they were hit by an SUV while trying to cross U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Christian Duff Morrow, 56, of Tampa, died at the scene.

Also injured were Larry Kenneth Crawford, 34, and Karen S. Ramsey, 74, both of Hudson. Crawford, who was in a wheelchair, was crossing U.S. 19 with Mr. Morrow. Crawford was treated at the scene. Ramsey was driving the 2012 Mitsubishi SUV that hit the others, troopers said. Ramsey was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 10:07 p.m. on U.S. 19 just north of Edna Avenue in Pasco County.

Mr. Morrow and Crawford were crossing U.S. 19 when they traveled into the path of the SUV Ramsey was driving.

No charges were filed.
