He was hit by three vehicles while walking across SR 52, FHP troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Hudson man died this morning (Feb. 10) when he walked into the path of oncoming traffic while crossing State Road 52, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jay Howard Kimmel, 59, of Hudson, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 12:33 a.m. at SR 52 and Choctaw Trail in Pasco County.

Troopers said Mr. Kimmel was crossing SR 52 when he walked into the path of oncoming traffic. He was hit by a 2016 Kia Optima, then by a 2010 Toyota Taris, then by a 2008 Mercedes ClS550.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed.
