St. Pete Crash Kills Driver of Motorized Wheelchair

The investigation into the crash continues, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

ST. PETERSBURG – The driver of a motorized wheelchair died Friday (Feb. 2) of injuries he received in a traffic crash, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Mark Ynes, 51, was taken to a hospital after the crash. He died at the hospital.

Police said the crash happened about just after 3 p.m. at First Avenue and 55th Street N. Police have not released details of the crash but said Mr. Ynes was hit by a 2003 Ford F150 driven byPatrick Watrous, 60. Watrous remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police said that, thus far, no charges/citations have been filed, but the investigation into the crash continues.
