SR 60 Crash Kills New Port Richey Woman

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A New Port Richey woman died of injuries she received Saturday (Oct. 20) while trying to cross State Road 60, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Mary J. Philip, 70, of New Port Richey, died at Brandon Regional Hospital where she was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 11:11 p.m. on SR 60 west of Mt. Carmel Road.

Troopers said Ms. Philip was trying to cross SR 60 when she walked into the path of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner driven by James Owen Vanhorn, 47, of Lithia.
