Spring Hill Woman Critical After Hit and Run Crash

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the vehicle that hit her.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle that did not stop, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Antonia R. Tirado, 66, of Spring Hill, was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point in critical condition.

The crash happened between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 26) at the intersection of Hunters Point Street and Oak Chase Boulevard in Hernando County.

Troopers said the unknown driver was headed north on Oak Chase Boulevard. The driver turned right onto Hunters Point Street and hit Tirado.

Based upon evidence at the crash scene, troopers said the unknown vehicle is large and could be a truck. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the FHP by calling (813) 558-1800 or contacting Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
