Spring Hill Motorcyclist Dies in Crash

The motorcycle overturned and the driver was thrown off, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill man died Friday (Feb. 17) after being thrown from his motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jerry J. Hollinger, 69, of Spring Hill, died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, troopers said.

The crash happened about 2:47 p.m. on Shoal Line Boulevard north of Osowaw Boulevard. Troopers said Mr. Hollinger was driving his 2006 Yamaha south on Shoal Line when, for unknown reasons, he left the roadway and drove onto the shoulder. When he tried to steer back onto the roadway, Mr. Hollinger overturned and was thrown from the motorcycle.
