Single-Car Crash Kills Tampa Man

His car went into a canal, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died of injuries he received Tuesday (Sept. 20) when he lost control of his car, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Casey A. Curtiss, 36. of Tampa, died at Florida Hospital South where he was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 10:58 a.m. on the exit ramp to Park Road from I-4. Troopers said Mr. Curtiss had been driving a 2012 Hyundai Elantra west on I-4 before turning onto the exit ramp where, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car. The Hyundai left the road, went over a concrete embankment and landed in a canal adjacent to the road.
