Section of Sligh Avenue to Close Temporarily

The closure will allow officials to remove a bridge.

TAMPA – Sligh Avenue will be closed under I-75 (west of Williams Road to west of I-75) from 9 p.m. today (March 16) to 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The closure will allow crews to remove the former bridge that was used to move traffic from westbound I-4 to northbound I-75. A new bridge opened for that movement Tuesday (March 13).

Detour routes

WESTBOUND Sligh Avenue: Go south on Williams Road, turn right and go west on U.S. 92 into the U.S. 301/I-4 interchange. Go north on U.S. 301 then turn right onto Sligh Avenue. Turn right onto Eureka Springs Road and go east to Sligh Avenue.

EASTBOUND Sligh Avenue: Go west on Eureka Springs Road. Turn left onto Sligh Avenue and go west to U.S. 301. Turn left and go south on U.S. 301 to the “loop” ramp towards eastbound I-4. At the split onto I-4, stay right and go east on U.S. 92. Turn left onto Williams Road and go north to Sligh Avenue.
