Scooter Driver Dies After St. Petersburg Crash

The crash happened Monday. The driver died Wednesday night, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

ST. PETERSBURG – The driver of a scooter who was injured in a traffic crash died Wednesday (May 30) night, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Shedrick Clarkson, 54, died at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was taken after Monday’s (May 28) crash. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. at 22nd Avenue S and 19th Street. Police said a Community Cab taxi driven by Sirelliott Roberts, 42, was traveling east on 22nd Avenue when it collided with a scooter driven by Mr. Clarkson that had been traveling south on 19th Street. Police said the scooter ran a stop sign.

Officers said the investigation into the crash is continuing.
