One bus passenger received minor injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A bus passenger was injured and about 70 gallons of fuel leaked after a semi truck collided with a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus this morning (June 15), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Martha Webster, 55, of New Port Richey, a passenger in the bus, was taken to Northside Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The crash happened about 6 a.m. on 118th Avenue N near 43rd Street N. Troopers said the bus, which was driven by Stacey Lynn Johnson, 46, of Pinellas Park, was stopped in the outside eastbound lane of 118th Avenue for other stopped traffic.

Richard Harry Cunningham, 74, of St. Petersburg, was driving a 2001 semi-tractor-trailer. Troopers said he tried to pass the bus and collided with it. The crash caused a fuel leak of about 70 gallons and blocked both the center and outside lanes. Troopers said Cunningham was cited for improper passing.
