She suffered a medical emergency and lost control of her SUV, FHP troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY – A New Port Richey woman died Monday (Jan. 7) after a one-vehicle traffic crash on Rancho Del Rio, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Mary A. Castricone, 78, of New Port Richey, died at Medical Center of Trinity where she was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 10:29 a.m. on Rancho Del Rio south of Via Segovia in Pasco County.

Troopers said Ms. Castricone was driving a 2011 Nissan Juke northeast on Rancho Del Rio when she suffered a medical emergency and lost control of her SUV. The Nissan left the roadway, traveled onto the north shoulder and hit a utility pole.
