Port Richey Man Dies in Traffic Crash

He hit the trailer portion of a semi, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Port Richey man died Friday (April 27) in a crash on State Road 52, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Steve Gordon, 53, of Port Richey, died at the scene. It is unclear if he was impaired.

The crash happened about 5:53 p.m. at 9845 SR 52 in Pasco County. Troopers said Mr. Gordon was driving a 2015 Ford Transtar west in the outside lane on SR 52 when he hit the rear of the trailer of a 2013 Volvo semi tractor-trailer. The Volvo was parked on the shoulder of the road while the driver, Anthony Copeland, 27, of Ocala, and his passenger, Troy Lester, 50, of Clermont, unloaded supplies for a nearby Domino’s Pizza restaurant.
