Port Richey Man Dies in Single-Car Crash

His car left the road and traveled through two yards before hitting a tree.

PASCO COUNTY – A Port Richey man died Sunday (Sept. 10) in a single-car crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Mart Louis Daniels, 69, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 10:20 p.m. at 7201 Johnson Road, west of Rampart Lane. Troopers said Mr. Daniels, who was driving a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, was headed west on Johnson Road when, for unknown reason, the car left the road.

The Hyundai traveled onto the north shoulder of the road, and continued into the back yard of a residence to the west of 7201 Johnson Road. It collided with a chain link fence and continued into the front yard of 7201 Johnson Road and came to a rest by colliding with a tree.
