The countywide wolf pack will have officers from six law enforcement agencies.

PINELLAS COUNTY – In an effort to reduce DUI-related injuries and deaths, the Pinellas sheriff says deputies will conduct a Wolf Pack operation in Pinellas County over the weekend.

Deputies will be working in partnership with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Belleair,  Gulfport, Kenneth City and St. Petersburg police departments. The wolf pack operation will begin at 7 p.m. today (March 3) and continue until 5 a.m. Saturday (March 4). The group will also maintain a proactive profile over the weekend on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County.

The operation is part of the Pinellas County sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. The goal of the wolf pack is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Remove Intoxicated Drivers USA and the Suncoast Safety Council will support law enforcement during the operation.
