In an effort to reduce DUI related injuries and deaths, deputies will conduct multiple saturation patrol operations in Pinellas County this Labor Day weekend.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Deputies will conduct multiple DUI saturation patrol operations this Labor Day weekend, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies will maintain a proactive profile over the holiday on the highly traveled roadways of Pinellas County.

The first operation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday (Aug. 31) and continue until 4 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 1).

The second operation will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 2) and continue until 4 a.m. Monday (Sept. 3).

The operations are a part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.

The goal of the saturation patrols is to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances.

The saturation patrols will supplement the quarterly multi-jurisdictional DUI wolf packs.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will continue wolf packs and DUI enforcement throughout the year.
