Planned improvements include better drainage and ADA-compliant sidewalks.

BELLEAIR – Pinellas County will hold a neighborhood information meeting regarding an upcoming sidewalk and drainage improvement project along Mehlenbacher Road from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday (Dec. 10) at the Belleair Town Hall, 901 Ponce de Leon Blvd.

The project consists of the construction of ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways, along with drainage improvements to reduce flooding and inflow into the sewer system. Construction on the north side of Mehlenbacher Road will be from Indian Rocks Road to the Pinellas Trail. Construction on the south side will be from Indian Rocks Road to west of Dolphin Drive.

Additionally, ADA-complaint sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways will be constructed at the intersection of Indian Rocks Road and Mehlenbacher Road, and intersection improvements are proposed where Pineland and Palm avenues meet Indian Rocks Road. Sidewalks will range in width from five to six feet and will provide connectivity between residential neighborhoods and commercial areas. The project is part of the Public Works Department’s capital improvement program.

The meeting will be an open house with no formal presentation. Project team members will display information and answer questions. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend and express their views.
