Pinellas Park Woman Dies after Traffic Crash

She suffered a medical emergency, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Pinellas Park woman died at a local hospital where she was taken after a traffic crash Thursday (Nov. 24), according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sue E. Rice, 62, died at Mease Countryside Hospital. No one else was injured in the crash.

The crash happened about 9:20 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 24) on U.S. 19 N north of County Road 39. Troopers said the 2007 Volkswagen Golf that Ms. Rice was driving was stopped in traffic when she suffered a medical emergency. She lost control of the car, which crossed over the median into oncoming lanes of traffic and continued traveling onto the shoulder where it hit a tree.
