Pinellas Park Man Dies After Being Thrown from Pickup Truck During Crash

He was not wearing a seat belt, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS PARK – A Pinellas Park man died this morning (Jan. 11) of injuries he received when he was thrown from a pickup truck during a one-vehicle crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Sean William Pinnell, 40, of Pinellas Park, died at St. Petersburg General Hospital where he was taken after the crash. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash happened about 4:11 a.m. on 71st Street north of 40th Avenue N. Mr. Pinnell was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado south on 71st when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the pickup truck. Troopers said the truck left the road and, once on the west shoulder of the road, it collided with a power pole and fence while overturning. Mr. Pinnell was thrown from the pickup.
