Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies will be on the lookout for drunken drivers tonight.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County deputies will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol operation tonight (July 3).

Deputies will maintain a proactive profile over the holiday on the highly-traveled roadways of Pinellas County. The operation will begin at 6 p.m. today and continue until 4 a.m. Wednesday (July 4), the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

The operation is part of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s ongoing commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving.

The goal of the saturation patrols are to educate people and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances. The saturation patrols supplement the quarterly multi-jurisdictional DUI wolf packs.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will continue wolf packs and DUI enforcement throughout the year.
