Two Pickups Collide with Pasco House

Three people were seriously injured in the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – Three people were injured Thursday (Dec. 29) when two pickup trucks collided with each other then with a house, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Angel J. Medina, 48, of Tampa, the driver of one of the pickups was ticketed for running a stop sign, troopers said. He; his passenger, Victor Medina, 52; and the other driver, Michael A. Samartino, 52, were all seriously injured. Both Medinas, who live in Tampa, were taken to Florida Hospital North Pinellas. Samartino, of New Port Richey, was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Holiday Lake Drive and Normandy Boulevard. Troopers said Angel Medina was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup truck south on Normandy when he ran the stop sign. The Dodge hit the 2016 Toyota pickup driven by Samartino, which was in the intersection heading west on Holiday Lake.

After the impact, troopers said both trucks traveled southwest and collided with a home at 1217 Normandy Blvd. The house sustained an estimated $20,000 in damage.
