The car was exiting a driveway when it hit the woman, FHP troopers say.

PALM HARBOR – A woman was seriously injured this afternoon (Nov. 18) when she was hit while walking along Alderman Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Frances Vasques, 68, of Palm Harbor, was taken to Bayfront Health after the crash. The driver, Lorraine M. Lemire, 78, of Tarpon Springs, was not injured but was cited for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.

The crash happened about 12:43 p.m. on Alderman Road just west of U.S. 19 north at the entrance to the UPS Store in Pinellas County.

Troopers said Lemire was driving a 2014 Honda Accord out of the UPS Store driveway when she failed to see Ms. Vasques who was walking on the sidewalk.
