Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Thanksgiving Day Crash

He was crossing mid-block and the driver did not see him, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A pedestrian was seriously injured Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 22) when he was hit while crossing Third Street N, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Jerry Dickens, 26, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened about 2:53 a.m. in the 100 block of Third Street N.

St. Petersburg police said Dickens was crossing east to west mid-block when he was struck by a 2017 Hyundai Sonata driven by Joseph Fovara, 55. Police said Fovara failed to see Dickens.
