HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A pedestrian was seriously injured Saturday (Jan. 19) in a crash on I-4, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Hamilton Mosley was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in serious condition. It is unknown if he had been drinking, troopers said.

The crash happened about 8:20 p.m. on westbound I-4 east of State Road 39 in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Mosley was, for an unknown reason, walking within the westbound inside travel lane. Several vehicles swerved, slowed and stopped to avoid him; however, the drivers of a 1998 Honda Civic and a 2018 Toyota Rav4 were unable to see or avoid him. Both hit him despite taking evasive actions.

No charges will be filed.
