Pedestrian Dies in State Road 50 Crash

He was standing and/or walking in the center of the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

BROOKSVILLE – A Brooksville man died this morning (Aug. 5) when he was hit by two cars on State Road 50, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Robert Clinton King, 63, of Brooksville, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The crash happened about 6 a.m. on SR 50 in front of Bayfront Health of Brooksville in Hernando County. Troopers said that, for an unknown reason, Mr. King was standing and/or walking in the center of the roadway in the path of a 2005 Hyundai Accent driven by Moraima Tejeda Gonzalez, 53, of Spring Hill. The Hyundai hit Mr. King, who was then hit again by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Joseph Anthony Sylvasy, 19, of Brooksville.
