He was not in a crosswalk, Pinellas Park police said. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

PINELLAS PARK – A pedestrian died of injuries he received when hit by a car while crossing Park Boulevard late Friday (March 9) night, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.

Gary Ezell, 66, of Pinellas Park, died at an area hospital where he was taken after the crash. The driver, Aaron J. Allen, 31, also of Pinellas Park, was not injured.

The crash happened about 11:25 p.m. in the 6100 block of Park Boulevard. Police said Allen was driving a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria west on Park when Mr. Ezell, who was crossing Park mid-block, stepped in front of the car. Allen was unable to stop.
