Pedestrian Dies in Hillsborough Crash

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Riverview man died Tuesday (Sept. 5) when he was hit by a pickup truck while walking along U.S. 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Boyd Earl Davis, Jr., 65, of Riverview, died at the scene.

Mr. Davis was walking north along the east side of U.S. 301 south of Duncan Road about 4:15 p.m. Troopers said he was hit by a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by April Marie Howard, 43, of Riverview.

The impact pushed Mr. Davis to the outside shoulder where he collided with a mailbox, troopers said.
