Pedestrian Critical After Roosevelt Boulevard Crash

The pedestrian was running across the highway when he was hit, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Safety Harbor man is in critical condition after he was hit while running across Roosevelt Boulevard on Monday (April 9) evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

James R. Walmsley, 23, of Safety Harbor, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition.

The crash happened about 7:39 p.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard in Pinellas County. Troopers said Walmsley ran across the highway into the path of a westbound 2016 Land Rover SUV driven by

Delaney Johnson-Morrison, 34, of Tarpon Springs. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and no charges have been filed.
