Pasco School Bus Driver Cited After Crash

No one was seriously injured, FHP troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY -Three children suffered minor injuries when a Pasco County school bus rear-ended a car on Massachusetts Avenue this morning (March 13), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Two children from the bus were taken by relatives to Norhtbay Hosptial. Relatives took one child and an adult passenger in the car to Trinity Medical Center. All had minor injuries.

The bus driver, Melissa Nichols, 54, of New Port Richey, was cited for careless driving.

The crash happened about 9:23 a.m. on Massachusetts Avenue approaching Little Road in Pasco County.

Troopers said Nichols was driving a 2006 International school bus east on Massachusetts Avenue when she failed to stop and rear-ended a 2003 Ford Focus that was stopped in traffic.
