It was closed to tall boats while a mechanical problem was repaired.

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Park Boulevard Bridge has returned to normal operations after it was closed to tall boat traffic because of a mechanical problem.

Repairs have been completed and it can now be opened.

Because of a mechanical failure, the bridge had to remain in the closed position for about a week while Pinellas County Public Works staff expedited repairs. It can again be opened for tall boat traffic on the Intracoastal Waterway. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic were not affected.

Constructed in 1979, Park Boulevard Bridge connects mainland central Pinellas County with the barrier islands at Indian Shores and Redington Shores.
