HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died of injuries he received in a traffic crash on U.S. 41 on Sunday (June 17), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened about 11:14 a.m. on U.S. 41 at Chapman Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Mr. Howell stopped the 2007 Yamaha motorcycle he was driving on Chapman Road for a stop sign at U.S. 41. He then tried to drive into the median turn lane area on U.S. 41, which took him into the path of a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Brian Hohman, 42, of Lutz.

As a result, the motorcycle hit the passenger side of the Chevrolet. The motorcycle overturned and Mr. Howell was thrown from the motorcycle.
