PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg motorcyclist died Wednesday (Oct. 19) in a crash on Park Boulevard, according to the Pinellas Park police.

Shane McEntegart, 38, died at the scene, police said. The driver of the other vehicle, Ralph Martin, 44, also of St. Petersburg, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 6 p.m. on Park Boulevard at 43rd Street N. Mr. McEntegart was riding his 2007 Honda motorcycle east on Park approaching 43rd Street. Martin was in his 2013 Toyota Corolla waiting to turn left from westbound Park onto southbound 43rd, officers said.

Witnesses told police that, when the light for Park Boulevard traffic turned from green to yellow, that the motorcycle was behind a third vehicle that was slowing for the light. The motorcycle cut between two unrelated vehicles that were in the curb and center lane also traveling eastbound on Park.

Martin, seeing the vehicles slowing to stop, began to turn left. While doing so, the motorcycle entered the intersection from around and between the slowing unrelated vehicles. The motorcycle ran into the front passenger side of the Toyota in the intersection, police said. Mr. McEntegart was ejected and died at the scene.

No criminal charges pending or expected, police said.
