Motorcyclist Dies in Pasco Crash

He lost control of his motorcycle when he failed to make a curve, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A New Port Richey man died in a motorcycle crash Friday (July 13) night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

John Edward Beatty, 56, of New Port Richey, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 11:01 p.m. on Sunshine Boulevard south of Casey Drive.

Troopers said Mr. Beatty was driving a 2017 Honda motorcycle south on Sunshine when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. He lost control of the motorcycle, left the road and collided with a tree.
