Motorcyclist Dies after Pasco Crash

The New Port Richey man died of injuries he received in the crash.

PASCO COUNTY – A motorcyclist from New Port Richey died Wednesday (Jan. 11) of injuries he received in a traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The name of the motorcyclist, 25, is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He died at Bayonet Point Hospital where he was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Commons Boulevard. A 2005 Buick Ranier SUV driven by James Cole, 63, of Port Richey, was traveling south on U.S. 19. The motorcycle, a 2000 Suzuki, was headed north on U.S. 19. As the Suzuki neared the intersection, the Buick made a U-turn, troopers said. The U-turn took the SUV into the path of the Suzuki. The motorcycle hit the right side of the SUV, troopers said.
