He ran a red light, Hillsborough deputies said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A motorcyclist died Wednesday (Aug. 30) when he was thrown from his bike in a three-vehicle crash, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said.

Jean Andre, 40, of Lutz, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet. There were no other injuries.

The crash happened about 4:56 p.m. at the intersection of Ehrlich Road and Farmington Boulevard. Mr. Andre was driving a 2001 Honda CBR900 motorcycle eastbound on Ehrlich “at a high rate of speed, swerving in and out of traffic” as he approached Farmington, deputies said.

The traffic light for Mr. Andre turned red before he entered the intersection and traffic on Farmington had started moving, deputies said. The motorcycle struck the front of a 2003 Nissan Xterra driven by Jessica Marketta, 37, that was turning left from northbound Farmington onto Ehrlich. The bike then struck the right rear passenger side of an Audi A4 sedan driven by Raul Boucourt, 54, of Tampa, which was turning left onto Ehrlich from southbound Farmington. Mr. Andre was thrown from the motorcycle.

Marijuana and alcohol were found in Mr. Andre’s backpack, deputies said. No charges are expected in the case.
