Motorcyclist Dies in Hillsborough Avenue Crash

The motorcyclist ran a red light, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash was alcohol related.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – An Orlando man died Sunday (March 25) evening when he was thrown from his motorcycle during a multi-vehicle crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Christian Camilo Rozo, 25, of Orlando, died at the scene. Troopers said he had been drinking. No one else was injured.

The crash happened about 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Hillsborough Avenue and Sheldon Road. Troopers said Mr. Rozo was riding a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle west on W Hillsborough Avenue when he ran a red light at the intersection with Sheldon Road.

The motorcycle collided with a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Kentral Glenn Potts, 56, of Tampa. The motorcycle overturned and hit a 2016 Toyota Prius driven by Kwok Hang Wong, 35, of Tampa.

As the motorcycle overturned, Mr. Rozo was thrown off and was subsequently hit by a 2018 Nissan Altima driven by Hope Sandoval, 26, of Tampa.
