There were no other injuries, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.
PINELLAS PARK – A Pennsylvania motorcyclist was critically injured Wednesday (May 23) in a traffic crash on 49th Street N, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.
Kenneth Rickert, 63, of Levittown, PA, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. There were no other injuries.
The crash happened about 7:12 p.m. at the intersection of 49th Street N and 94th Avenue in Pinellas Park.
Wilton Costa, 62, of Pinellas Park, was driving a 1995 Ford F350 pickup truck north on 49th when he made a left turn at 94th Avenue. The Ford hit the 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle that Rickert was riding causing it to slide through the intersection, police said.
The motorcycle crashed into a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by James Patterson, 39, of Pinellas Park. Patterson had been stopped while waiting to make a right turn from 94th Avenue to southbound 49th.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, officers said.
