The motorcycle driver is in critical condition.

PASCO COUNTY – A Spring Hill woman died Sunday (April 9) when she was thrown off the motorcycle she was riding, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Holly Starcia Rich, 49, died at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle, Anthony Joseph Pilotti, 44, was taken to Bayonet Point Regional Hospital in critical condition. Both are from Spring Hill. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 4:51 p.m. on State Road 52 near the intersection of Moon Lake Road. Troopers said Pilotti failed to negotiate a curve and struck the raised center median. The impact caused both Ms. Rich and Pilotti to be thrown from the motorcycle. The crash does not appear to be alcohol related.
