Motorcycle Passenger Critically Injured in Pinellas Park Crash

The motorcycle driver was also injured when both were thrown from the bike.

PINELLAS PARK – A passenger on a motorcycle was critically injured Friday (Sept. 30) when she and the driver were thrown from the bike during a collision, the Pinellas Park police said.

Roxana L. O’Neal, 31, of St. Petersburg, was taken to a local hospital, officers said. The driver of the motorcycle, James P. Brown, 51, of Pinellas Park, was also taken to a hospital. He was listed in stable condition. Neither was wearing a helmet.

The collision happened about 2 p.m. in the 4000 block of 70th Avenue N. Neftali Rivera, 46, of Pinellas Park, was turning a 2012 Honda Civic left onto 70th from 40 Lane. Police said Rivera pulled in front of the 2003 Harley Davidson that Brown was driving. The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the Civic. Both Brown and O’Neal were thrown off the motorcycle and over the Civic. Rivera was not injured.

Police said there are no criminal charges at this time. However, citations are pending and could be issued depending on the medical condition of O’Neal and Brown.
