HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday (Oct. 8) evening in a crash on U.S. 92, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jonathon Martin Chapple, of Plant City, was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition.

The other driver, T Quan Malik Diggs, 20, of Seffner was not injured. He was cited for careless driving, troopers said.

The crash happened about 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 92 and Parsons Pointe Street in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Diggs was driving a 1999 BMW 323i west on U.S. 92 when he started to turn left onto Parsons Pointe Street and into the path of the 1997 motorcycle that Chapple was riding. The motorcycle became lodged with the BMW and was dragged until both vehicles came to a rest south of the intersection on Parsons Pointe.
