Mariner Boulevard Crash Kills Motorcyclist, 17

The motorcyclist ran a red light, according to FHP troopers.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill teen died of injuries he received today (Nov. 27) in a crash on Mariner Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Eric A. Parisi, 17, of Spring Hill, died at Oak Hill Regional Medical Center where he was taken after the crash. The other driver was not injured.

The crash happened about 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Mariner Boulevard and Northcliffe Boulevard in Hernando County.

Troopers said Mr. Parisi was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSXR750 north on Mariner Boulevard (County Road 587) when he failed to stop at the red traffic signal at the intersection with Northcliffe Boulevard. As a result troopers said, the motorcycle collided with the right side of a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Krystal A. Kunkel, 38, of Spring Hill. The Kia which had a green light, was turning left from Mariner onto Northcliffe at the time of the crash.

The crash closed the intersection until about 10 a.m.
