Man in Wheel Chair Critically Injured in Head-On Crash

He entered the automobile travel lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

PASCO COUNTY – A man in a motorrized wheel chair was critically injured this morning (Sept. 27) when he hit a car head on, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Gerald John Dziengowski, 67, of Zephyrhills, was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car, Kelly Lynn Snider, 48, also of Zephyrhills, was not injured.

Troopers said the crash happened about 7:42 a.m. on State Road 54 east of Allen Road. Dziengowski was riding westbound in the bike lane on SR 54. He left the bike lane and collided head on with the 2007 Ford Focus that Snider was driving in the eastbound lane of SR 54.
