Madison Street Crash Kills Holiday Man

He was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his SUV, according to FHP troopers.

PASCO COUNTY – A Holiday man died of injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash Saturday (Oct. 12) on Madison Street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

John Edward Lane, 44, of Holiday, died at Morton Plant Northeast Hospital. It is unclear if alcohol was involved in the crash, FHP troopers said.

The crash happened about 3:55 p.m. on Madison Street approaching Trouble Creek Road in Pasco County.

Troopers said Mr. Lane was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee at a high rate of speed north on Madison when he lost control of the SUV, which left the road. Once on the west shoulder, the Jeep collided with a power pole and overturned.
