Lutz Motorcyclist Dies After I-275 Crash

He lost control of the motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Lutz man has died from injuries he received in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday (July 15), the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Michael Coniglio, 38, of Lutz, died at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was taken after the crash. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 7:54 p.m. on northbound I-275 approaching 22nd Avenue N. Troopers said Mr. Coniglio was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle in the inside lane when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the bike. He traveled to the shoulder where he collided with a guardrail.
