Jacksonville Man Dies in Single-Car Hillsborough Crash

He lost control of the car he was driving, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Jacksonville man died Wednesday (April 5) when the car he was driving partially burst into flames after he lost control of the vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Barry Edward Anderson, 69, of Jacksonville, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 4:05 p.m. on I-275 near State Road 60. Troopers said Mr. Anderson was driving south on I-275 in the inside lane when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the 2008 Kia Spectra he was driving. The car collided with the concrete barrier wall in the inside median, overturned multiple times along the barrier wall and partially burst into flames.
