Four Seriously Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on U.S. 301

The wrong-way driver had been drinking, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Four people were seriously injured this morning (March 3) in a wrong-way, head-on crash on U.S. 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Christopher Lynn, 41, of Lakeland, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition. Troopers said he had been drinking.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a man, 71; woman, 70; and teen, 13; all of Lakeland, were taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition.

The crash happened about 12:05 a.m. on U.S. 301 south of Harney Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Lynn was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 301 when he hit a 2015 Toyota Tundra head-on.

Troopers said charges are pending.
