One Seriously Injured in Four-Vehicle St. Pete Crash

It is unclear what caused the initial collision.

ST. PETERSBURG – Police here are investigating a four-vehicle collision that seriously injured one driver and sent two others to the hospital, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Corey Allen, 50. was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life threatening injuries. Darryl Martin and Anthony Lee Richter, 32, were taken to Bayfront where they were treated and released. Martin’s age was not available.The fourth driver, Harold G. Rose, 70, did not seek medical attention.

The crash happened about 2:10 p.m. Monday (July 10) at the intersection of 62nd Avenue N and Dr. Martin Luther King Street. Police said a 2017 Hyundai driven by Allen collided in the intersection with a 2015 Toyota driven by Martin. Those two vehicles then hit two other vehicles that were stopped. One was a 2015 Ford driven by Richter, which was at the stoplight in the westbound median lane at Dr. Martin Luther King Street. The other was a 2007 Ford driven by Rose, which was at the stoplight in the curb lane on westbound MLK.

Police said it is unclear why the Hyundai and Toyota hit each other.
