Two Seriously Injured When Car Crashes into Bank

It’s not clear why the car accelerated, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – A driver and her passenger were seriously injured Wednesday (Oct. 17) when the car they were in crashed into a bank, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

Margaret Finger 91, and Kamla Ramsaroop, 74. were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries.

Police said Finger was driving a 2006 Hyundai Azera north through the Northeast Park Shopping Center, whic is in the 100th block of 37th Avenue N. The car jumped a curb, entered the BB&T parking lot and jumped several more curbs before crashing into the southwest corner of the bank.

At this time, it is not known why the Hyundai accelerated.
