I-4 Crash Kills Pinellas Park Man

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Pinellas Park man died Wednesday (Jan. 9) of injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle traffic crash on I-4, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jeffrey Mundy, 59, of Pinellas Park, died at Tampa General Hospital where he was taken after the crash.

The crash happened about 5:50 a.m. on eastbound I-4 at about Milepost 3 just east of U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Mr. Mundy was driving a 2016 Isuzu truck east on I-4 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle. The truck left the roadway and hit a highway sign, utility box and fencing on the south shoulder before coming to a halt.
