Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Pedestrian in Hillsborough

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on the driver who hit the pedestrian and fled.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a Tampa man early this morning (Dec. 3).

Anthony Terry, 30, of Tampa, died at the scene, the FHP said.

The crash happened about 12:49 a.m. on U.S. 92 west of Comfort Drive. Troopers said an unknown vehicle hit Mr. Terry as he was crossing U.S. 92. The driver failed to stop and fled, they said. Later, a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage driven by William Figuerado Guerra, 48, of Brandon, collided with Mr. Terry, who was lying dead in the roadway.
