Hit-and-Run Crash Kills Tarpon Springs Woman
She was crossing a street in Holiday when she was hit, FHP troopers said.
HOLIDAY – A Tarpon Springs woman died of injuries she received when she was hit while crossing a street in Holiday on Tuesday (Dec. 4) evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Shawn Clement, 59, of Tarpon Springs, died at Florida Hospital North Pinellas where she was taken after the crash.
The crash happened about 6:15 p.m. on Flora Avenue east of Brightwell Drive in Holiday.
Troopers said Ms. Clement was crossing Flora Avenue when she walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle, which hit her. After the collision, the vehicle fled the scene.
